“Organize
yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house…a house of
order, a house of God.” (D&C
88:119)
A big thanks to Marni for teaching us how to get organized in October! You can view Marni's organization Powerpoint (in full color!) here. Here's a recap if you missed it:
MARNI’S TIPS FOR GETTING (AND STAYING) ORGANIZED
1. Recognize your stuff-to-space ratio.
2. Throw stuff out!
3. Shelving and clear plastic containers are your friends—but don't go
overboard.
4. Have one (small) "catch-all" shelf, drawer, or cupboard.
5. Get rid of stuff!
6. Rotate kids’ toys every 3-6 months. Hold back some of the gifts given at
Christmas and birthdays and work them in later, especially for younger
kids.
7. Don't keep clothes you haven't worn for more than two years unless
they're really, really specific (like a formal dress).
8. Spend 15-20 minutes cleaning up at the end of every day.
9. Require your kids to clean up their toys, clothes, dinner dishes, etc.
10. Throw stuff out!
